A PLAY WITH SHADOW AND LIGHT
A piece of architecture that responds to its environment. Cantilevered slabs protrude outward, creating a modern form, which allows the natural shading of the house to block out the direct sunlight and allow diffusion of light to shine through big pieces of window. A modern color scheme with a rough texture of wood and stone, giving this modern, yet tropical feel to the whole architecture.

MASTER PLANS AND CIRCULATION PLAN
LAYOUT BLOCK AND FLOOR PLAN-RESIDENTIAL UNITS
The 5 x 10 residential units are designed to provide a sense of identity to each unit. This is achieved by staggering the units and the design encourages customization in terms of color-making the streets more lively and the units more personal.
The units have 2 rooof variants and 2 material options of local brick and exposed concrete blocks to make them more earthy ,tropical and relavant. This also adds to establishing identity to each house.
The back yards have wet kitchens and sit outs where neighbors can interact with each other.
THE PEDESTRIAN STREETS
The internal streets that cater to the residential units are traffic free. They are designed to encourage kids to play, people to interact and mingle.

LAYOUT BLOCK AND FLOOR PLAN-COMMERCIAL UNITS
THE 2 FACED COMMERCIAL UNITS
5 x 12 and 5 x 16 shop house units are mixed use units. The commercial space on the ground and mezzanine are accessed from the main roads/ commercial roads. The residential unit sits on top on the first and second floor, this is acceded from a separate stair and lobby that can be reached using the green pedestrian streets at the back. Hence ensuring separation of the commercial and living spaces that are mixed up in a typical shop house. The residential part cantilevers over the main road shading the pedestrians below and visually separating the house from the shop.

THE MARKET PLACE
The market that opens up to its own plaza is a flexible space designed with a striking exaggerated roof reminiscent of the traditional sloping roof.
An intresting screen wall with colourful graffiti and plants seperates the market from the residences behind.
It has its own designated car and moto-bike parking along with a public toilet.
